Wang Yijie, Ph.D., born in Qingdao, China, is a young female composer living in Germany. Graduated from the Composition Department of China Conservatory of Music, Wang Yijie studied with Shi Wanchun, a famous Chinese composer. In 2007, she enrolled in the composition Department of the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg, Germany, where she studied composition under composer Professor Peter Michael Hamel. In 2010, she received her Master's degree in Composition and Music Theory from the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg, Germany, and then pursued her PhD (Doctor Scientiae Musicae), where she studied under musicologist Professor Beatrix Borchard, composer Professor Georg Hajdu and composer Professor Chen Xiaoyong.Wang Yijie received her PhD in 2016 with full marks. Since 2008, her solo works are "Mondnacht" and "Vier Lieder Nach Gedichten von Sappho," "Four Seasons," "Life in Peace," "Yanggufei" drama "Flietstucke," and adapted opera "Cosi Fan. Tutte has been performed in Wagner Bayreuth Music Festival, Mozart Music Festival, Hamburg and Toulouse, Hamburg Chinese Times Festival and Elbe Philharmonic Hamburg. The percussion concerto "Chang 'e Flying to the Moon" in 2017 won first prize in the International competition "Debut at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg".
